Now here’s something worth checking out. A bunch of people in Pembrokeshire, England have gotten permission to build a village on “sustainable living” terms. They will create a traditional land based, village living, farming community in a countryside landscape. And they are not connected to the electric grid or water and sewer lines. Everything they get, everything they use, comes from… and goes back to… the land. And beyond that, everyone has to make a living. There is a 75% rule, where that much of your income needs to come from the land – think eggs, plant essences, wood carving, vegetables… writing?
It’s a great experiment, this sustainable future. See it at the Lammas homepage, or check out the family that built this homestead at: Low Impact Woodland Home
